OWN. RACE. EARN.

Owning and Racing are pretty straight forward for new users coming into ZED.RUN but too often than not, Players who eagerly join Zed.Run to buy their NFT horses are given a rude awakening when their New NFT horse they bought doesn’t perform to its potential or doesn’t blitz the competition in all of its races. Is it as simple as the odds that your horse pulls in the races and do they determine the fate of your horse and your stable or is there something more that you could do to keep your horse performing?

Having joined the Zed.Run Platform over a month ago, I have been reading up on all the articles and theories on breeding, stable management, blood lines, color coats, etc. I learned quickly that Zed is a game of discovery, strategy, skill and sheer joy. There is nothing but pure happiness when your horse wins a a race but what if that is few and far between, is it still worth your time and money to keep racing ?. When I started out there was not much thinking or strategy to what I did and more often than not, my horses tended to lose money and finished agonizingly 4th. I wondered if there was a better way to do this and started experimenting.

The SETUP & TEST

2 horses , Sovereign Eminence — A z9 Buterin Genesis colt with a ROI of -51% and Orchestral Runner — A z9 Buterin Genesis colt with a ROI of -53.42% overall. Both these horses had lot of test data from previous runs having run around 130 Races each. My interest is to see if I can get these two horses running in positive ROI in the congested Class IV category. These are not great horses both had average odds around 15+ and are generally passed away from Racing. This is going to be challenging test. Here is how i got on.

Results

From the Images above, Sovereign Eminence has a ROI of 32% in 24 paid races and Orchestral Runner has an ROI of 24.7% from 23 paid races post the changes in strategy for the respective horses. Its is clear there is a great possibility of making Profit on average horses even if they are not world beaters on the game. this gives a fighting chance to new players to work their way towards building a stable that creates then next monster horse. Although not all horses are born racers, I just wanted to prove there is a possibility that you can still EARN

Disclaimer: Not all horses are expected to be racers, some might never be good racers but can still have their utility in the ZED.RUN universe.

Catch you later on another article where we try to start looking into the number of parameters that are taken into consideration for changes in racing strategy. Till then, stay safe and keep Zedding !
